Wow this makes me really distrust Icarus, they are being dishonest here. They act as if they developed the Illumina XL themselves, while its very obvious that all they did was put their logo on it and modified the stock firmware a bit.
I hope they give you a better offer. If not at least ask for your broken device back, you could still resell it for parts
