Page numbers don't advance when using table of contents.

This has been a longstanding problem. When using page numbers for the entire book, if I click on the table of contents icon on the bottom menu and go to a different chapter in a book, the page number does not change or in some cases goes up or down only one or two pages. When reading sequentially or using the location slider, the numbering works just fine. If I have numbering set to the current chapter, that also works fine no matter how I navigate. I read all my books in kepub format and the behavior is the same for both books downloaded from Kobo directly or sideloaded from Calibre and occurs for all my books.

This is somewhat annoying, as I read a lot of non-fiction and often use the table of contents icon to go to the first page of the notes chapter to get an idea of how long the actual text is. Otherwise, I would never have noticed the problem, but it does occur no matter where I go using the TOC icon.

Any cures?
