The MOBI files produced by Kindle Previewer do not include KFX format. KFX is always separate.

You can't split a KFX file. You might be able to use the
EpubSplit plugin to split the source file into smaller pieces and then convert them to KFX individually.

In the calibre conversion settings under "Page setup" you can change the "Output profile" to have calibre downscale images. You would have to experiment to find one that reduces the size of the resulting KFX file enough to prevent a crash of your kindle while providing quality that is acceptable to you.
Or you could just not use KFX format for this book. That is my recommendation.
