The article is wrong and talking bullshit. My phone is not certified either and I still can access. I just tried it with my phone and max 2, I can access play store even after a hard reset some hours ago.

He still says that to access store you are going to need android 8, no fucking way.

He probably have a max 2, applied the ota but didn't activate the store in options and then didn't update the play services, google refused the connection without the services and he made a post talking something he doesn't know how it works.

there is no ban on ereaders to the play store nor uncertified devices, nor sub android 8 either.
