No, it doesn't. The Sony is pretty much the only device on the market which

No. It charges via USB from your PC. Don't bother with the Sony charger; if you do buy one and you want a wall charger, buy a charger for the Sony PlayStation Portable - it's the same spec charger as the Reader uses, and about a third the price.
