The problem with that is when you are learning about a character - especially in something like a bildungsroman where the story is about discovery. If you have a bio, either it's so uninformative to be pretty useless, or you're going to include spoilers. Otherwise, each time you click on the bio, you'd have to go to a different link each time that's effectively 'to date' in the story - which makes it unwieldy to code. Same with geographic data; you'd have to stick to what is general knowledge within the story.

In all honesty, that would (to me at least) end up so totally distracting it would be like disappearing into a Wikipedia wormhole.
