The wireless delivery options that Kindle offers make it better imo. Whether it's a book I already own on Amazon's servers, or a book I have downloaded from another source, sending it wirelessly makes it very easy.
Reading on my Kobo was fine, but having to connect to my computer when I wanted to add books was a pain. It added another couple of steps that made it less satisfactory for me.
Amazon is my primary source for books also.
