Samba v1 has been slated for deprecation since 2009, officially deprecated since 2012, and omitted from installation in Windows 10 since 2017. In one of the next upgrades, it will be removed completely.
Everything starting with Windows Vista (which, incidentally, is already out of support for two years because it's over 10 years old) supports at least SMB v2. Windows 8 and up support v3.
So yeah, trying to still use SMB v1 is not very future proof.
