Hi !

I own both the 10.3" Onyx Boox Note and a 13.3" Onyx Boox Max (1st generation).

10.3" is just the perfect size if you bring your ereader out and use it in the public transports for example (I use it everyday in the subway). It's small enough to be easily transported anywhere, and big enough for reading technical pdfs, especially since there is a "crop zoom" feature that allows to get rid of the empty margins on the document. Of course, depending on the document, the text can be a bit small, but it's readable without the need of zooming (IEEE articles, for example, will require good eyes, but most technical books will look perfect).

If you don't need to bring your ereader outside as I do, then the 13.3" is probably a better choice, because it will be more comfortable for the eyes. And the weight is not a problem, both readers are really super light. But this ereader, due to its size, will mainly be used on a table in my opinion, as you would do with a A4 size book or printed article. Don't think to bring it out for reading in the bus, for instance, it's really too much big.

In conclusion, all depends on the use you will do of it, if you want to use it outside or not.
