In working out this issue, i've tried a few things. Using BenChen's program, my workflow is as follows; i start from scratch and edit the metadata. It shows the correct cover art. I save and add file (in this case epub) to calibre. Calibre shows generic cover art. I edit metadata in calibre. It shows correct cover art. Copy files to device (manually) device (android galaxy note) shows generic cover art.
While the device is not reading/seeing the metadata (assuming it's there) neither is calibre after importing from BenChen's. And of course, after editing the metadata a second time in claibre it's still not applied or being read, even though in both programs it acts correctly and shows the correct cover art. Tried this with two different files, same result. Still working on it....
