Overdrive isn't very popular on the east side of the North Atlantic though. UK libraries started using it a while back but have since then moved over to BorrowBox instead. The Netherlands has their own "online library" and has ignored Overdrive completely. Germany did get Overdrive in 2015 I think but I don't know if it caught on and/or if it's still used. I don't know about other European countries but I never hear/see Overdrive mentioned around "here"...

Having said that, since direct integration with Overdrive was already built into the firmware for the [I can't remember which Kobo device and I'm too lazy to look it up], it really doesn't make sense to not have the integration in the other Kobo devices as far as I can see...
