Yeah, there are a lot of bitwise things they can do to the data, from the trivial to the complex. I'm content to leave figuring it out to the younger, single geeks with more free time.
I'm just happy that I don't have a large library of stuff I hadn't gotten around to downloading from Kobo, because I just redownloaded a Kobo audiobook that had been usable mp3s when I downloaded it last, and it's now downloading as the unusable enc2 files.
