Often enough that we have an example thread posted by someone who did the replacement.
The recovery process, after the hardware replacement, is only slightly more complex than recovering from "Erase All".
And the backup script I posted creates backups of all the required items (if run prior to the failure of course - so run it now and keep the set of files it creates).
