Well, that was surely a gone past five years ago, when I started buying and could witness.
Yes, their definite appearance is that of slow, paced improvers.
In a market with little or no competition (I include as a requirement 'devices that work out of the box, "not licensed but owned", without any need for Internet connection to do their job' - which removed all big names at the time. Today, I am not informed if the big-company changed policy in the firmwares, but I get they do not release devices with big screens anyway).
