Mind, if e-ink readers allowed greater customization for page turns, it wouldn't be as much of a problem. On my PRS-350 running PRS Plus firmware, I had single tap for both right and left margins set to advance to next page. If only the PRS-350 had front light, it would've been perfect.
That said, the Nook's restrictions are a deal breaker for me given one of my primary uses is sideloaded content. I use a PW3 (Manga 32GB, jailbroken) and a Glo HD (64GB).

i agree with all of this which trust me doesn't happen that often

i have the Amazon Kindle 8th generation i only bought it because it was so cheap.
i do like the screen it's nice and clear but it spends most of it's time being switched off.
i much much preferred my old Kindle 4 which i used all of the time precisely because it had page turn buttons. to be honest i regret getting rid of it.
