The two (minor) drawbacks mentioned in the video review as well as in the written review are the non-waterproof design and the fact that the power button was moved from the back side to the bottom, since that makes it easier to inadvertently turn off the device.
He doesn't say anything specific about comic books. He just says that the Clara HD, being a 6 inches e-ink reader, is pretty bad for PDF's, and Rakuten Kobo hasn't done much on the software side over the years to work around the hardware and physical limitations. Bigger e-ink devices or tablets are simply better for PDF's.
On the positive side, it is rugged (thanks to the inner metal plate), lightweight, very compact (feels like a 5" reader), hackable (microsd).
