Mariana Zapata's books look to be self-pubbed, but I've read and really liked several of them a lot, including Kulti, which is probably my second favorite of her books, after The Wall of Winnipeg and Me. Some other folks seem to agree with me - Kulti has 4.7 stars on Amazon with more than 1,000 reviews. It has dropped to $1.49 as a US Kindle Daily Deal.
