I am speaking from practical experience
. I've owned an iLiad in the past, which displays 16 grey scales. I really see very little difference in the image quality of the 16 grey-scale iLiad and the 4 grey-scale CyBook.
The important thing is to correctly process your images in a decent graphics package BEFORE including them in your eBook.
