I have not been a subscriber for many years and never attended one of their conventions, but I'm sad to see that this is the last year for the RT con and the website will be closed in less than a month. I never understood why they changed their names from Romantic Times to RT Magazine. There's nothing on their website yet. I saw the news on Social media.

When I first started reading romance I remember writing snail mail to the various bookstores with ads in the back of the magazine trying to track down authors' backlist books. (Yes I am pre-internet years of reading romance years old )

Apparently there will be a more reader-focused con next year in New Orleans under new management (and invite only for authors). bookloverscon.com
