Really? I had the exact opposite problem. My CS department had (still has) an obsession with Linux. About 70% of students run Windows. Very few had a Mac.
One thing I've noticed is that you can tell the socioeconomic status of a student body based on how many have a Mac. Also, the more Macs, the more the school costs to attend.
This mainly applies to the CS department, though.
