For the most part, eReaders are just for reading. I own a Fire 7 (like you) and I wouldn't know if it was good or bad (just not something I would want to read on, or use much). You might want to look at Woot. They seem to have higher end, refurbished tablets for reasonable prices. (Currently iPads, Androids by Samsung and Toshiba, even a couple Windows Surface (RT) tablets – I'm guessing those are pretty old, though.)
