BTW, the "Add Books" methods mentioned don't "move" the book into calibre, but instead they "copy" the book into calibre. The file in the source location remains, and if you don't want or need this original file you need to delete it manually.

Calibre also has an "auto-add" function which you can setup in Preferences>Adding Books on the "Automatic Adding" tab. You simply specify a folder, classically called a "watch folder", that calibre watches for changes and when it finds a file in one of the chosen formats it will automatically add the the book. This method, unlike the manual Add Books methods, will then delete the file from the watch folder.
