Personally, I would want a device with wireless connectivity that you can install your library apps on (Overdrive, Hoopla, etc.), and ideally, expandable storage. I think you can get unlocked Android phones for under $50, for example. You do not need great specs for listening to audiobooks, or the latest Android version (I’d say anything Lollipop or later is fine).
