Well, I've been silently lurking and reading here for a while. I wasn't quite sure I'd ever actually join in, despite a growing interest in ebooks; but I started visiting more regularly in the buildup to the announcement of the Kindle 2.
And now, here sit I, with my delightful new Kindle cradled in my arms (a day earlier than estimated, no less!), thinking: "You know, maybe I should finally join up. It's informational, it looks like fun, and now I actually have an ebook device to coo about in public there." So here I am!
...Incidentally, I don't have to pay any customs duties on that cheese I'm bringing in in my avatar, do I?
