One of the main reasons I went for the Sony PRS-505 was because it had collection support. I like carrying around a lot of ebooks with me and I did need some way beyond title and author sort to find what I'm looking for. The tag I use most often is my unread collection where I dump all stories I plan to read...though not sure how well that is working out it's already at 20 pages...sub folders would be rather helpful at this point...
