I keep a sleep cover on all my ereaders 100% of the time. I'm pretty anal about protecting all my electronics to keep them as pristine as possible, so for me a cover is a must.
If I ever got a scratch on an ereader, I'd have to replace it. Same goes for my phone, monitors, tablets, TVs, etc.
