Interesting. I've never lost any sideloaded fonts on a simple firmware update. It takes a factory reset to remove them.

As for not being able to adjust some fonts anymore, that suggests that you had your firmware patched with the "Freedom to advanced fonts control" patch in the libnickel.so.1.0.0 patches. As for the default font, while the default fonts have been changed, there is a patch in the librmsdk.so.1.0.0 patches to allow setting the publisher default fonts for serif and sans-serif which also allows you to set sideloaded fonts as the defaults.
