Install Nova Launcher or any other launcher that allows you to access the Marshmallow security settings and setup the screen lock
IMPORTANT: This device has an internal SD that is slow (30MB/s for read and write) so, don't enable encryption, with initial password till now should be enough because the boot loader is locked.
If you still want to encrypt content, install Boxcryptor Classic on you device and your PC (only version 1.7) and use Dropsync to sync your files, I use this method even in my phone.
