I didn't think about the honey, and other edible (by American standards) products (not that I can think of any others) made by insects.

It's interesting that some, at least, people would not consider an insect an animal, although it certainly is (it's certainly not a plant or something like an amoeba or paramecium--"protozoa" I think is what they call one).

What I find more interesting is how often I see (in this part of the country at least) stores and restaurants speaking of "meat and fish," as though they are two different things. A militant vegan, or vegetarian for that matter, would set a person straight about that!
