Ok, so this is a bit different. A song last what 3 mins or so? So, in a few hours you could listen to 40 or 50 songs? Also, when listening to the songs, you don't WANT to hear repeats. But, you don't mind if you listen to the same song again every few days.

With eBooks you select 1 to read... and you could be reading the same ebook for several days, a week or more. Also, "usually" (most people) will read a book and then not go back to it. At least not any time soon.

So, the use case of an MP3 player and a ebook reader are totally different. You don't "NEED" 40k ebooks on your reader at a time, to get good enjoyment out of it.

Would it be nice to have... sure. Will future gen devices make this more pratcical, I'm sure. Is it a reason to complain... obviously. Does it really make the device unuseable... certainly NOT.
