I have a Max 2 and not a Note, but for what it's worth, my choice for notetaking is the reMarkable. I tried the Max 2 a little for this, and it didn't work too much for me - the interface of the reMarkable is better (even though the app has some stupid flaws; but for what I have in mind, I don't think the Onyx app is any better - like, no copy-pasting of notes from one document to another, or even from one page to another).

So my device of choice is the Max 2 for full-size PDF reading, and the reMarkable for notetaking.
