Do not confuse the CPU (mem etc.) and the display. The display has hard limits which will not be overcome by an i7 underneath. But a rough impression comparing an i7 and a Z80 under the same display is a joke.

I have seen applications (and I am talking of "reading" applications) that on the MaxCarta, i.MX6SL, seem to be almost frozen in a semi-state of "panic" (as I cannot now remember the technical term), performing slower than the slow processor - slow as the consequence of the overall low specifications. The same applications, on the Max2, RK3288, output fast like an avalanche.
