I was so used to picking up books for my mom at sales at the library and garage sales that it's really really tough to resist. But mom has made it clear she only wants e-books now. She is enjoying having more wall space for paintings now that some of the bookshelves are gone.
Don't beat yourself up on getting sale paperbacks, but to make a limit within your home. My sister made a limit that she would have no more books than fits in her bookshelves, and if she has more she has to get rid of something.
