This may be an issue where MobileRead and Apprentice Alf disagree.

The DeDRM Tools contains the message, "Cannot decode library or rented ebooks", although that restriction seems to often be ineffective. If you run in to trouble removing DRM from a library book you are unlikely to get help in fixing the problem.
