Here's the message that I got at the top of the webpage:
"Welcome back to Audible
We're sorry! You have already purchased a membership plan. You cannot purchase a second membership."

BTW--I don't currently have a membership and, if I ever had one, it's been so long that I don't remember it. I remember taking advantage of a trial offer or two, again a long time ago.


ADDENDUM: I think that I figured it out. I am one of those "_____ Inactive" (used to be called "ListenerLight") members.

Excuse me for being a sourpuss, but it seems like when they have sales or other promotions, I'm not a member; the remainder of the time I am considered a member).
