Similarly, I've kept my Oasis 1 and not even been tempted to get a 2. It wasn't just the insurance (nearly useless, anyway: the bit you need to replace is often the charging cover, and that's not covered by the insurance and almost impossible to obtain in the UK: I had to get a friend to smuggle one in from the US!), but the lightness, the long battery life, and the fact that it's the size of a paperback and thus easily fits into many (non-bendy) pockets, all of which go to the wall with the Oasis 2 in exchange for a larger screen and waterproofing I don't need, and extra weight I'd find quite painful with my barely-under-control RSI.
I don't know why they stopped selling it. It seems to fit a quite different niche from the 2.
