(
The Ship Who Sang) is a classic; feels a little dated because of the whole "tape" and "film" thing, but what can you say, this was written before even compact discs (or personal computers for that matter).
Of course, the whole miniaturized computers/AI thing kind of obsolesces the main premise of mobile brains (or not, imagine how much better say, Stephen Hawking's life would have been as a mobile brain?).
Overall, I liked the stories, and they led to several wonderful collaborations of more mobile brain novels.

This sounds like something I would enjoy. Checking my library for it now... hah! got it. Also picked up
Lucky Man.
Meanwhile, I plowed (funny how Firefox doesn't seem to think that's a word...) through the novella
The Grownup; I liked it, and it enabled me to move on to
Ready Player One by Ernest Cline, though some say I should see the movie first, so as to avoid inevitable disappointment.
