Device: Kindle PW, iPadPro, Galaxy Note 5, 8 (tab) & Galaxy Tab S3
The new iPad that came out supports pen but you have to buy it separately. Out readers (kindle paper white, husbands onyx book, Samsung Tab A, and Tab S3, I like iPad 2018 or pro. LiquidText pdf reader (look it up on YouTube it’s amazing) is almost reason enough to buy it alone.

I don’t think you can get more simple than iOS.
