Well, I'm glad you have a setup that works for you, but I only understood about half of what you said, and it seems far too complicated for someone with only average technical skills. Also Firefox was the browser that I got the error on, which is frustrating as it is my preferred browser.
Regardless, I have far too many tabs in my browser already and really would prefer to read my ebooks outside of my browser(not to mention it automatically opening in full screen mode is annoying). A stand alone cross platform app would be vastly preferred, or at least a way to sync the built in ebook viewer with other apps such as Moon Reader. Again, I hope that these header/footer options will be added to the built in ebook viewer for those that prefer to use it.
