With your active lifestyle, I would suggest going with a lesser priced device and include a good protective cover. Or, maybe purchase two cheaper priced devices and have one as a backup. Or, purchase drop and fall insurance. Some credit cards will give such insurance when using the card for the purchase. Traveling by bicycle would imply size and weight considerations too.
I have used the original H2O and now have the KA1 as the main. It is comforting to know if one were to get damaged their is the other fully loaded and ready to read. Both are a bit spendy in my opinion but I have been very pleased with each model. The KA1 was purchased solely for the larger screen estate. Best of luck for you and your decision.
