The calibre editor randomly modifies EPUB files, which are opened with it, without even clicking Save. I believe it is caused by downscaling images very hard. That doesn't always happen, and I wan't able to find out what does trigger that.

No part of the book should be changed, unless it is explicitly saved by the user.
