Just finished 2nd book of Morris & Chastain series and I noticed quite a few grammatical or spelling mistakes. They don't look like OCR mistakes, but typing mistakes. Makes me wonder if a copy editor or at least proof reader would have helped. Anyone else notice that?

Small things like "now" instead of "know" or "do" instead of "to." E.g. this one that cannot be mistaken for dialect or something:

"If you don't now where [he] is now..."
Theses are traditionally published - if they were self-published it would at least explain it a little bit. I have seen self published works without such obvious mistakes.
