I'd say that's a pretty good deal, considering I paid $50 for a refurbed PW2 from Woot, late last year.
The PW2, at least, seems rugged and well built, and I haven't heard anyone complaining about the PW3 build quality. I have a case, and while I CAN remove it from the case, it is difficult enough that it's easier to just read with it on. If you think you'd prefer a sleeve, I'd say go for it. These things aren't REALLY for protection when you are using it so much as they are for protection when you aren't using it.
