Finally I can join in here! Although obviously I'm 18 months behind

Got my Kobo Aura One yesterday (following more than 5.5 years on a Kobo Glo, whose new assignment is travel reader ) and wow! I love it!

I don't know if I lucked out on a screen, but aside from extremely subtle smudging along the borders (no where close to any writing), and the slightest extra redness of a 2cm square section at the bottom centre (obviously only with the comfort light on, and only visible with in a dark room), it is PERFECT. No pin holes, no unevenness, no glowing lines around the edges (which was very prominent on my glo) or light leaks, and no dreaded green splotch. I have super sensitive eyes, so I can't adjust for unevenness by changing the brightness.

I'm surprised at how orange I want to read at at night (although admittedly on 1% brightness, so still subtle compared to very orange at 100%), and since I usually also read before I am fully awake in the morning means I can gradually lessen the orange as I wake up, which is much more natural (and important since I have blackout curtains).

It's super sharp and very good contrast (although I can see people who hate any grey in the background might complain...but the words are super black!), and of course the big screen is so much easier to read on than the little 6-inch glo.

I don't mind the capacitive screen so far (although I do sometimes have extra dry skin that can make them less reactive....guess I will just need to be less lazy about hand cream!) and I like how thin and light it is!

I find the screen super fast to react, turn pages, open the dictionary (although I obviously am comparing this to the glo....but I have used my parents aura hd and aura h2o) and a the moment I've only read kepubs on it.

Overdrive integration is great. I've already used pocket on my glo. I like the new pin lock feature. The home screen is ok. I wish it still showed the extra info of whether the book you are reading has annotations...actually I wish long pressing books allowed you to just open annotations. I don't like opening a book that I've already finished (or one that is marked as unread) just to check if there are any annotations...but probably I'm one of the few people who cares. I would just like a central place to look at annotations, regardless of the book they are in, and which wouldn't change the read-status by looking at them. I know you can extract them on a pc, but I want to just look at them without ever using a pc.

I also wish I could "manage" my overdrive account via the reader, like I can in the app. ie: wishlist, managing holds, etc. The only two things I could see to do is check a book out or place a hold. I have both my pc and phone off at night, so it would be nice if I could do that sort of thing via my reader.

I do like that when I'm in my book list, it allows me to filter more things, including overdrive, downloaded and imported....I would also like a "not downloaded/not on device" filter.

But in general....a very happy camper! err...reader!

Edit: how could I forget my new bath buddy! Of course one of the best features of all
