I'm sorry to say, but it sounds like you bought a defective Glo. I owned a Glo (now own a Touch) and I had no ghosting on the Glo and it had good, solid dark fonts. My problem with the Glo was an issue with
my eyes – for some reason I can't use front-lit eReaders as I'm constantly having trouble keeping them in focus. Your Glo should be much nicer than the Touch with the front-light turned on. Not only should the light make the background whiter, the Glo's resolution is higher than a Touch's resolution, so the fonts should be sharper.
