Oh, I see what you mean. (slow on the uptake...)
I read some reviews/discussion of the bowdlerized series of books, and learned that Prince Bumpo was nearly entirely deleted--- which is a shame, he is a wonderfully comic character with his almost-accurate elegant vocabulary (lovely spoonerisms and puns!).
