Iain Bank's Culture novel Consider Phlebas is on sale for $2.99 at Amazon, Kobo, and presumably every other US retailer.

According to JSWolf, this is a terrible SF novel and (probably) nobody should read any of the Culture novels because of the sheer dreadfulness of this one. I haven't read this book in years and don't really remember it, and I will have to admit that I enjoyed some Culture novels more than others, so YMMV.
