Lost Kobo account

Hi,

I am wondering if anybody can suggest how I could resolve an issue I'm having with Kobo.

My girlfriend has had a Kobo reader for years, and used to purchase books directly from Kobo on Wifi. She never connected it to a computer. One day the reader had to be reset to factory settings, and this of course erased all the books and account information.

But -- it turns out she had registered the account to some email address that she can't remember.

So there's no way to get the books back. Kobo asked for some information such as credit card info and transaction IDs for books purchased from the credit card statement, but that was weeks ago, and they have not responded.

Any suggestions how to escalate this at Kobo support?
