Worked for me, only a few days ago. I wanted to remove the special offers and pay the 20$, but the official instructions on how to do it did not work. So I contacted the customer service over chat, explained them the problem, and the guy just removed it with no charge. I'm not in the US, not sure if that is relevant.
Now there are some typewriter macro photographs shown as off-screen. Quite nice.
