Always a surprise to people, but unlike Amazon, who must have it in their contracts, Kobo and B&N don't necessarily keep a book available if the publisher withdraws it even though you paid for it. Your only recourse is to get a refund. That is why everybody on this board, downloads, removes DRM and stores their purchases in Calibre. Many of us have been there and done that, losing many more books.
I actually have about 30 books on Audible that are no longer sold, yet they remain in my account. That's why I think Amazon has something in their contracts about that.
